I’ve been helping people with digestive issues and autoimmunity for more than 10 years now. I’m always on the lookout for new and more effective strategies to help people heal and improve their lives.

About 4 years ago I saw a new trend beginning to develop in medicine – health coaching – and I knew that the people I worked with needed it, so they could get better quicker, faster, and easier!

Since we’ve added health coaching to our care we’ve seen people’s results improve tremendously!

What is health coaching?

A health coach is your personal ally in your health journey, helping you to make the changes you need to make, preventing you from becoming overwhelmed, or stalling when you hit the inevitable obstacles in your healing journey.

I was stunned…

…that when we added health coaching to our care, a lot of people said they weren’t interested.

They told us things like…

  • “I already have a good diet and lifestyle…”
  • “I’ve already worked on my diet and lifestyle…”
  • “I already know all about diet and lifestyle…”
  • “Just tell me what to do, I can do it myself…”

Are you thinking the same things?

Then I realized that this was totally normal. People are used to going to the doctor, but unless you’re an athlete, most of us have never had a coach before.

Two of the biggest mistakes we all make…and how coaching fixes them for us!

There are two HUGE mistakes we all make that keep us from getting what we want in life and reaching our goals.

The first is that ALL of us have blind spots and we ALL fail to recognize our blind spots most of the time.

That’s why we’re so good at giving other people advice about what they should do, or how they should fix things, but so lousy at giving ourselves advice.


What we find when we evaluate people is that 9 out of 10 of them who tell us they already have done all the work on their diet and lifestyle, still have significant things that need to be corrected! But their blind spots aren’t allowing them to see those areas.

Coaches point out your blind spots to you, so you can see them!

And awareness is the first step to effective change!

The second huge mistake we all make is that we confuse knowledge with results.

We read books and blogs, we listen to lectures and podcasts. We know things, but it’s critical that you really understand that knowing something isn’t the same as doing something.

So when people tell us they already know what to eat or what to do, that’s great!

Knowledge is the second step to effective change!

But it’s not about what you know, it’s about what you’re doing.

And if you were doing what you needed to be doing to reach your goals, you’d already be where you want to be.

As much as we want to believe that we can do it ourselves, it’s clear that’s not true.

The best in the world use coaching, they don’t go it alone. Top athletes like Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan, at the very pinnacle of their skill and careers still use coaches.

It’s not that they don’t already know everything about how to swing a golf club or shoot a basket, it’s that their coaches support them, help them identify their blind spots, hold them accountable for the behaviors that are going to help them get the results they want, and help them troubleshoot issues that inevitably come up.
